Today Is Friday
News stations will report the latest hate crime. Department stores and grocery outlets will advertise holiday sales. Trash will be collected. Children will attend school and daycare centers. Markets will be busy with local merchants selling meat and produce. Banks and mail delivery will follow a normal schedule.
Saliva
As a schoolgirl, I remember spitballs being launched across the classroom and thinking they were gross. Likewise, seeing a puddle of spit on the sidewalk was extremely repulsive; it still is. Most people agree that someone else’s saliva is disgusting.
The Egg
The egg is an amazing creation. It is strong enough for a bird to sit on it; yet weak enough for a bird to hatch from within it. It is permeable enough to allow oxygen in; yet protective enough to keep germs out.
Getting Even
Don’t get mad… Get even!
Simply put, “Getting even” is to punish someone who has done something bad to you by doing something bad to that person.
Lightning & Thunder
My childhood home was located on a narrow half-street in Reading. The elementary school I attended was directly across the street.
